By Train

Göttingen railway station is an InterCityExpress (ICE) stop on Germany's high-speed rail network with hourly connections to all major cities in Germany and beyond. For train times and fares (also to European destinations) check the website of the German Railway (Deutsche Bahn). Upon arrival exit the station on the side marked ‘Zentrum’.

By Plane

The most convenient airports for Göttingen are Frankfurt am Main Airport (FRA) and Hannover Airport (HAJ). Although it takes longer to travel from Frankfurt airport to Göttingen (approx. 2hr by rail) than from Hannover airport (approx. 1hr), air connections are often cheaper and more flexible via Frankfurt. For rail connections to and from these airports check the website German Railway (Deutsche Bahn).

By Bus

The Göttingen long-distance bus station is next to the Göttingen railway station. For coach times and fares check the website Fernbusguide.

By Car

Leave highway A7 (Hannover-Kassel) at the exit 72 'Göttingen-Nord' for national road no. B27 towards Göttingen. After 3.7 km turn right at traffic lights into Weender Straße towards Göttingen town centre (sign-posted ‘Zentrum’); after about 1.7 km turn left into Kreuzbergring. There is car parking near the conference venue in the Goßler Str. (see map).

Abstract guideline for oral presentations and posters

Main text maximum 250 words, containing a brief introduction to the problem, results and main conclusions (see Abstract Archive for samples).

Travel grants

Travel grants, not to exceed 300€, will cover travel, but not the costs of obtaining a visa, the registration fees or social events. Preference will be given to postdoctoral fellows in their initial postdoctoral years or to MD/Ph.D - students in their final student years.
To be eligible for a grant, the responsible supervisor of the applicant must have been a member of the Anatomische Gesellschaft for at least one year at the moment of the submission of the application. If not a student the candidate should be the author of at least one scientific publication in a peer reviewed journal.
Applications must be accompanied by an abstract of the scientific contribution, together with a curriculum vitae, a list of publications and a separate letter of recommendation from the responsible supervisor.
A candidate can be supported more than once but the accumulated contributions of the Anatomische Gesellschaft are limited. Preference will be given to candidates who apply for the first time.
A refunding will only be made when the successful candidate has submitted the final account including the receipts and tickets to the secretary of the Anatomische Gesellschaft, together with a confirmation by the meeting organizer of the participation at the meeting.
Applications that are not successful will not be reconsidered at a later time.
Decisions about Travel grants will be made by one Board member of the Anatomische Gesellschaft as well as a group of at least three junior scientists and will be based on scientific quality, basic necessity of the applicant and financial situation of the society.
The grants will be awarded at the Organizers' discretion, based on a brief letter (500 words maximum), which will include motivation for attending the Workshop and the estimated costs of travel to and from Göttingen. Please send your application to Doris Stark ( Deadline for submission of a travel grant application is 30 June 2016. Grants will be awarded in the form of reimbursement after the conference.
